Friendster Service Update
Dear Friendster Community,
As you may have seen, Friendster.com has undergone maintenance at various times over the past few days. Friendster’s unscheduled downtime was due to a power outage at our outsourced data center in Santa Clara, California where Friendster’s servers are co-located along side approximately 50 other companies. As a result, Friendster, as well as a number of other online companies, experienced unscheduled and unavoidable downtime. At this time, Friendster is back online and our team is working quickly to restore everything back to normal.
Additionally, you may have experienced some inconsistencies with your friend count on Friendster. All of your friend connections and data stored on Friendster are in tact and will be corrected shortly. It’s simply taking some time for us to restore each user account as Friendster has over 85 million user accounts globally.
Lastly, if you’ve received any on site messages or SMS text alerts regarding our downtime or your friend count, please disregard them as they were initiated by members of our community and do not contain accurate information about what happened.

Some Frequently Asked Questions:
1) What happened to my friends?
Currently, the number of friends in your friends list may be displayed incorrectly. We’re working on this and all user accounts will be returned back to normal shortly.
2) Are my friends lost permanently?
No. The data for all friend connections is intact and is not lost.
3) When can this be fixed?
Friendster is currently working on this and we aim to have this fixed within 24 hours.
4) Can I still add friends while my friend list is inaccurate?
Yes, users can still add new friends and use other features of the site.

FRIENDSTER SUCKS!!! There’s never a week when friendster is not broken. No wonder my friends are cancelling their accounts and are now switching to multiply, facebook, etc.. I’m going to close mine soon if this website doesnt get any better… SUCKS!!!

yeah ur right girl! friendster is terrible. my friends are also closing their friendster accounts.. they’re now in multiply so im going there as well. just signed up today and its so much better there. no troubles logging in and out, viewing pictures, friends dont get lost, unlike in friendster plus in friendster u lose ur customized profile, etc, etc… everything is such a pain in the a**

Hi There, I’m from Malaysia and here, Friendster is still put under maintenance. Can’t access to my account for a few days now. Any idea when it will be recover here?

hi van! it sounds like ur waiting for some miracle! let’s get out of here..there r lots of other websites that are way better than friendster. multiply, facebook, bebo, myspace, to name a few and u will have no problem there. everyone’s leaving friendster and im losing my friends cancelling their accounts coz it really sucks…

Whatever. I’m a proud user of Friendster and I am glad that this error has been fixed. And Aimee and Lota, Friendster is doing it’s best to serve it’s users better so it has to undergo maintenance from time to time to keep it updated for us. If you don’t appreciate that then Friendster doesn’t need to have another hate-user and you get just go out without announcing it here.

UH OH. not another maintenance! i’ve been a regular of both facebook n friendster but sad to say friendster hasnt been performing up to standard. pls do smth about those spam comments as well..

yeah friendster SUCK’d ass much more.
no securities or whatsoever. they just only want to have a zillion of users.
probably 1/3 of it are bots who are spamming comments at our pages, ruining ours.
i never had a time using forums properly it’s like when u post one, you gotta have to wait 5 to 10 hours in order to recieve a reply.
fuck i rather go multiply and myspace if this continues.

hi. all my blogs of many years are lost. why did this happen??? but most importantly, can i still retrieve them? my blog url was beautiful_me.blog.friendster.com, but now it cannot be accessed. can this be caused by the changing of my fs url beautiful_me to cmbsc? now, i can’t bring back my old url because it doesn’t allow special characters anymore. pls pls. im looking forward to an optimistic answer. thank you.
